Phlebotomy Technician with 20 months of experience total. Combined experience with inpatient and outpatient. I spent 8 months in a clinical setting. My responsibilities were to enter the correct patient demographics along with tests being drawn and insurance information. After performing venipuncture, I centrifuged certain specimens accordingly. Packaged specimens accordingly and ready for courier to pick up. The other 12 months I spent in the laboratory and collecting specimens within the hospital. I performed venipuncture on a diverse range of patients including, behavioral health, pre-op, cancer patients, and kidney dialysis patients. I worked the front desk and the accessioning of all kinds of specimens, along with data entry. I handled pending orders, stocked supplies, sterilized surfaces, prepared venipuncture carts, and trained new hires, along with students, on the floor. I was the evening shift lead phlebotomist for a short season.
