• Sweeps, mops, strips, dusts, washes and polishes furniture and woodwork
• Vacuums carpet and cleans waster receptacles
• Cleans erasers and blackboards
• Washes windows, doors, and walls
• Cleans restrooms
• Sweeps sidewalks and picks up papers
• Cleans drinking fountains
• Polishes metal work
• Fills paper and soap dispensers
• Minor electrical repairs- including replacing light bulbs
• Replenishes supplies
• Turns out lights; locks doors and windows; observes assigned areas to prevent vandalism
• Reports need for repairs to management
• Maintains equipment and supplies in proper condition
• Performs minor, technical building maintenance
• Assists with in-service training
• Substitutes for and/or provides cleaning services for absent custodians
• Strips and waxes floors, and steam cleans rugs and carpets
• Supervises moving, arranging, and setting up of furniture and equipment for special events and meetings
• Wax/cleans gym’s hardwood floors
• Evacuates buildings during a bomb threat, fire or any emergency which may occur during shift
• Other related duties as assigned

• Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock soap, paper products,

and supplies

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, classrooms, lobbies, and hallways
• Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners and maintain waste areas
• Wash windows, walls, glass surfaces, and other assigned areas Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and high‑touch surfaces
• Keep custodial closets and supply rooms clean, stocked, and organized
• Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and urgent clean‑up needs
• Report damages, safety hazards, or repair needs to management
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper chemical handling
• Lock doors, secure facilities, and ensure building safety after hours
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and carpet machines
• Assist with heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned Cooperate with staff and support event setup or room preparation when needed
