- Serves as a healthcare data analyst for the strategic planning and development team in the facility.
- Assists Executive Leadership with data analysis, such as collecting and interpreting data and analyzing and reporting results. Reports weekly to executive leadership and service chiefs during morning meetings. Morning meeting reports include weekly uniques, encounters, and appointment utilization for all Western North Carolina VA Health Care System (WNCVAHCS) locations.
- Routinely uses VHA Support Service Center (VSSC) to gather data for data requests. Data from this tool is used to influence decisions impacting patient care. Used VSSC to determine the need of Dental expansion in the system's catchment area. I've also used reports from this tool to assist space management specialists with space requests. I am also one of the two VSSC points of access for the facility.
- Uses data analysis tools to extract data to identify patterns and trends for strategic planning initiatives. Solely, created a facility market assessment and made recommendations to add an additional CBOC in Lenoir area, expand Franklin CBOC, and possibly establish a sharing agreement in Hendersonville area.
- Uses geospatial application, such as ArcGIS and Maptitude to create local maps to help visualize potential future locations for expansion of medical services for veterans. Maps from these apps are also used to identify which services are needed in the health care system's 3 community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs).
- Uses strategic applications, such as Health Systems Planning Application (HSPA), to assess local Veteran population and identify projected imbalances in health care capacity.
- Created a tracking system for space committee using Excel to record past and current space requests. Replaced and developed a new user-friendly space request portal, using PowerApps.
- Developed an automated dashboard, using PowerApps, for new program, Care Coordination & Initiative Case Management (CC&ICM). CC&ICM coordinators use the dashboard routinely to monitor CC&ICM enrollees and project ER visits and admissions's cost of care.
- Supports Systems Redesign Coordinators and students for data needs for LEAN projects. As a trained black-belt, I provide assistance for yellow-belt and green-belt students.
- Assisted strategic planner at the annual strategic planning workshop with executive leadership and service chiefs.
- Led the WNCVAHCS Fisher House workgroup, and gathered data for the Fisher House application process with assistance from service chiefs. Fisher House has been approved and will continue to lead the workgroup during construction phase.
- Created a key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard for Associate Director's services. This dashboard is presented in Executive Leadership Board (ELB) and Administrative Executive Council (AEC) meetings.

- Created and designed an audit tool and dashboard for Life-Sustaining Treatment Initiative (LSTI) green belt certification project. This tool is used to track monthly LSTI trends and errors. Recommendations were made using this tool and the percentage of LSTI errors have reduced from over 15% to as low as 8% monthly. This project had a soft dollar savings of $19,009/year and assumed cost avoidance of $6.7 million/year in malpractice cases.
