Work History

Custom Arduino UNO Development Board Design

University of Colorado at Boulder
Boulder, CO
08.2024 - 12.2024
  • Designed a high-performance 4-layer custom "Golden Arduino" board from scratch using Altium Designer, including schematic and PCB layout.
  • Integrated a smart measurement system on the board’s backside to measure Thevenin voltage and resistance of voltage sources or VRMs.
  • Optimized circuit design with ferrite bead filters, decoupling capacitors, via stitching, and ground planes to minimize interference and noise.
  • Programmed the bootloader to manage ATmega328 startup and enabled high-density peripheral connections via blind vias.
  • Tested with 10x probes and an oscilloscope; results showed significantly reduced crosstalk, signal reflection, and voltage noise compared to commercial Arduino Uno boards.

IT Infrastructure Assistant

Shanghai Lingweishen Information Technology Co.
Shanghai, Shanghai
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • Implemented group policies to streamline batch updates for IVICT (Shanghai).
  • Installed and configured test machines using system images.
  • Performed on-site equipment debugging and issue resolution at Mitsubishi IVICT.
  • Delivered technical solutions and after-sales support, enhancing client satisfaction.

Capstone Project Team Lead

University of Colorado at Boulder
Boulder, CO
08.2022 - 05.2023
  • Awarded a project through bidding to develop a tracking and data acquisition system for Medtronic's Sonicision ultrasonic scalpel.
  • Implemented UWB communication using nRF52 (ARM Cortex-M4) and DWM1000 modules.
  • Led the team in overcoming TDMA development challenges, configured development tools, and integrated Apache Mynewt RTOS for multitasking.
  • Built a system to acquire battery and temperature data via UART, track position using two-way ranging, and transmit data to a PC.
  • Took initiative in leadership, delegated tasks effectively, and conducted risk and integration testing to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
  • Organized and led weekly meetings with Medtronic sponsors, delivering progress reports and collecting feedback.

Ball-Bouncing Game Development

University of Colorado at Boulder
Boulder, CO
01.2022 - 05.2022
  • Developed an efficient pinball game using C on a Silicon Labs EFM32PG board based on the ARM Cortex-M4 architecture.
  • Utilized Micrium RTOS for multitasking and performance optimization, implementing callback functions for each task to ensure real-time responsiveness and stability.
  • Applied semaphores and mutexes for task synchronization and resource management, ensuring high reliability and efficient system utilization.
  • Created a detailed task plan, systematically outlining necessary tasks and dynamically adjusting based on risk assessment and project progress to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Electronics Design Lab

University of Colorado at Boulder
Boulder, CO
01.2021 - 05.2021
  • Developed a self-driving electric car controlled by an Arduino Nano, programmed to follow a predefined route.
  • Tuned external capacitors, resistors, and a 555 timer to optimize PWM signals for speed sensor gain control.
  • Implemented a feedback loop using integral compensation and speed sensor gain to regulate motor voltage and control speed.
  • Designed an H-bridge-based steering system using NPN and PNP transistors for efficient directional control.
