Work History

Licensed Vocational Nurse

The Hockaday School
Dallas, TX
08.2012 - Current

At Hockaday I have the unique experience of being The Resident Nurse for the school's boarding program. I oversee 80 students medical records, medical needs, medications, refills, and doctor's appointments under the direction of our Health Director and School physician.

I provide a "safe space" for students who are living away from their families and these needs are physical as well as emotional.

I implemented with my Director a Flu shot clinic each year for resident students to receive their flu shots right in our Health Center downstairs from where they live.

I also implemented a policy for our older students to self-administer Vitamins by creating a system where after each parent has given and signed permission form each bottle of Vitamins is marked and initialed by the nurse so that the Dorm Mom knows this is a safe product the student is taken and that their parents have given permission.
