I work in private duty nursing, responsible for medication administration through the G tube, administration of enteral feed, catheter care, positioning of the patient, wound care, incontinence care, and care of the colostomy bag.

I worked in private duty homecare, responsible for medication administration both orally and through the G tube, enteral feed administration, trach and ventilator care, use of Hoyer lift, catheter care including catheterization, and seizure care.

I worked in private duty nursing, responsible for care of the patient that included ongoing assessments to ensure care was appropriate and if interventions were needed, medication administration (both scheduled and PRN) through the G tube/opthalmic route/nasal route and preparation of enteral feeds. Duties with this agency also included/include care of ileostomy, straight catheterization, toileting, and general incontinence care. Knowledge of seizure care was also included in my duties.

I performed private duty nursing visits as well as short skilled visits. Private duty visits in particular included all care in addition to skilled nursing. I assessed the patients for any changes in condition, performed wound care as needed, I often performed tracheostomy care and suctioning, care for ileostomies, set up tube feedings, I performed blood sugar checks and insulin injections, I set up the ventilator and weaned as necessary, and administered medications/set up medications for the week as needed. I was also responsible for ensuring that the medication records for the new week were accurate. Any changes in the patient's condition were reported to the supervisor or physician.

I worked in private duty nursing and my duties included assessments, vital signs, monitoring respiratory status and need for oxygen, medication administration through a G tube, enteral feeding, catheter care, bathing, toileting, ambulating/transferring, and dressing. I also worked with ventilators in the past.
