Dedicated to providing excellent animal care and customer service, I have a proven track record in resolving concerns promptly. My experience at Walt Disney World and Company has honed my customer service skills and deepened my passion for marine animals and their environment. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture from Unity Environmental University, I am set to graduate in October 2026. My ultimate goal is to attend vet school and become an Aquatic Veterinarian DVM. I have earned a certificate in Animal Behavior Analysis, equipping me with the skills to provide mental enrichment and encouragement to animals using training techniques, tools, and behavior shaping plans. Additionally, I have expertise in analyzing animal behavior and training using positive reinforcement, as well as promoting healthy food foraging behaviors. Furthermore, I have four years of experience training my own two Service Animals for my disability. Alongside this practical experience, I have extensive knowledge of AZA & NOAA laws and guidelines, as well as expertise in Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and Hospitalization from online courses. These courses have equipped me with the ability to assess animal emergencies, perform wound/trauma care, and ensure patient preparation for hospital transport. Moreover, my background in Oceanography has provided me with the necessary skills to care for animals that require PH levels and water quality monitoring. With a solid foundation in Equine Care from attending Horse Science and Care Management classes at the University of New Mexico, I possess strong problem-solving skills, considerable knowledge in animal welfare and husbandry, some pre-veterinary medicine knowledge, and the ability to multitask in fast-paced environments. These qualities make me an ideal candidate for the role of a Zookeeper or Husbandry Assistant on the El Paso Zoological team. If selected for this position, I will adhere to all AZA association laws and regulations while providing exceptional customer service to guests and ensuring the safety and welfare of all zoo animals and staff. With a commitment to professionalism, fair ethics, and sound judgment, I am confident that I can be a valuable asset to the zoo's animals and team.
