Summary

Quick thinking Police Officer with great instincts skilled in assessing risks and making critical decisions while under extreme pressure. Dedicated to minimizing force and maximizing positive outcomes. One of the many examples of making a difficult decision under pressure was while recently working at the White County Sheriffs Office, I got into a vehicle pursuit. The driver had several felony drug warrants out of both Putnam and Overton County. Speeds reached in excess off 130 mph. The driver turned onto a curvy county road and proceeded to loose control of his Jetta and crashed into a large cedar tree at approximately 80 mph. I approached the vehicle on foot and observed both the driver and his female passenger were in bad shape. There were multiple compound fractures both the subjects legs and arms as well as massive internal injuries. I was alone at the scene when flames started coming out of the engine bay and then the dash. I cut the drivers seatbelt and pulled him away from the car then pulled the female out through the drivers side while i could barely see for the smoke. With in 4 minutes the car was totally engulfed. Both subjects were flown to Erlanger from the scene and survived to face charges. I was recently awarded the Tennessee Police Officer Heroic Lifesaver Award from the Tennessee State Senate. I received several medals, awards and commendations from my time in the Marine Corps but this one is special in that I was actually able to save their lives.

0621 Field Radio Operator

United States Marine Corps
29 Palms , CA
01.2005 - 01.2014

I attended the Marine Corps Communications and Electronic Warfare School and while there, I completed a strenuous Recon indoctrination course which tested me physically and mentally in preparation to be assigned to a USMC Recon battalion. While working as a field radio operator, I was required to have knowledge and understanding of the Uniform Code of Military justice as to not be sanctioned but my main duties focused on assembling equipment or delegating that task to send and receive messages from US and allied forces in the field. Prior to being deployed to Afghanistan in 2011, I was promoted to communications chief for 2nd Platoon, Kilo Company. I was given a short advanced notice that 2nd Platoon would not remain static and would play a major role in kinetic operations with 3rd LAR, a mechanized reconnaissance battalion, against Taliban forces in southern Helmand Province. Due to the kinetic nature of our role, I as comm chief was task with selecting the best operators from the company to assist my section. In country, I was responsible for not only my Marines but for maintaining and accounting for over $3 million in communications equipment. With my Top Secret clearance, I was task with obtaining a new crypto key that rolled over every two weeks whether I was forward deployed or not, I found a way. I was also task with simultaneously setting up and tuning of several radio systems to include your standard SINCGARS and satelite up-links while in combat situations to provide 9 Line Med Evac, Artillery and HIMARS Rocket support, Close Air Support (CAS) i.e, target grid, azimuth and egress for the inbound aircraft and common resupply. I was also task with fielding new and untested equipment such as the netted iridium radio all while maintaining constant communications with units in the rear who we frequently used for direct fire support.

Carpenter

Superior Walls
Rock Island, TN
10.2004 - 05.2008

Working as a carpenter in a business that built prefabricated concrete walls for any type of structure that was desired by the customer it was my job to build and accurately place any type of opening in the wall such as window and door frame rough outs. For every job was custom with a specific blueprint, I had to read and discern the type, size and location of the opening to be built from stock lumber and place it accurately on the form table according to the blue print. Measurements were precise and all aspects of the build had to be square and within a 1/16 tolerance. Most structures we built required the standard aluminum 90 and 45 degree angles which I was also responsible for accurately placing on the lay-out table before the build crew arrived and the concrete was poured. Sometimes the designer would incorporate odd angles in their design so I would have to manually build those odd angle forms out of lumber. An example of that was a round church and a round house donated and built by our company for the TV show Extreme Home Make Over. It was built for a community in Louisiana that was destroyed after Hurricane Katrina. We had to build over 50 different forms ranging from 18 degrees to 80 degrees.

As each job was different, It was my duty to read the assigned blueprint specs and assemble the proper pieces together to be welded in place. It was not unusual for me to lay over 300 feet of bead a day.
