Seasoned clergy offering 30 years of experience in pastoral care and spiritual leadership in local congregations. Committed to creating thriving community guiding individuals transformed by gospel to work for personal and community transformation. Particularly committed to social justice issues.
Pastoral leadership began in the mid-1990's as a trained lay preacher and leader serving local congregations in NJ and from 1999-2002 serving two congregations in Columbia County then attending seminary for M Div degree.
I have received and continue to receive additional training as a Spiritual Director. This involves working at a more in-depth level with interested individuals seeking to more fully understand matters of faith, both in a formal religious sense as well as the broader context of the spiritual life, however that is understood.
Prior to my education and service in ministry, I received my A.A.S. in Human Services. Through the years I worked in a number of mental health agencies including: a transitional facility for clients leaving the local mental health hospital, returning to life in the community; Intake Counselor for adolescent alcohol rehab facility; MONARC - Monmouth County Association for Retarded Citizens (Monmouth County, NJ); Companion for a young women with cognitive learning differences; Intake information for a local adoption agency (VIDA); student pastor assisting college chaplain with spiritual guidance for college students; earned credit for a unit in Clinical Pastoral Education (hospital chaplaincy) attending to the spiritual/emotional needs of the hospitalized as well as doing the inner work of self-understanding and reflection.
