Working two warehouse jobs has helped me come out of my comfort zone. Taught me how to become a leader, keep a team safe, having better communication skills. This all helped me to apply and become a learning ambassador. Taking time to teach new associates has taught me to have patience and re teach if it’s necessary. I’m willing to learn new work skills when the opportunity is given.
Working the wrap down shift my job is to make sure all pallets and shuttles are wrapped and have a label on them indicating their location. Then those pallets need to get moved and dropped off at the doors where the drivers will be picking them up. Every door should have a total of 12 pallets, if there are more then the next step of to merge as many pallets as we can to get to 12 pallets. Once all that is done and pallets are picked up we set up the floor for the morning shift and that is by building a lot of shuttles and making sure the work area is clean.
As a shipping and receiving clerk my job was to prioritize which trailers had to be unloaded and loaded first. When trailers were unloaded I had to make sure the trailers were left clean and door was shut. Safety was an important role. When loading a trailer I would scan every pallet so driver was taking the correct load and then I would print out their paperwork and hand it to them for personally so they would know they had the green light to go.
