  • PLTL at FIU (August 2024-) - (Peer Led Team Learning)- I guide science students in their understanding of their study materials and lectures. In addition to that, I provide strategies on how to not just memorize the information but to understand and apply it to an exam. This role allows me to guide students to stretch their minds and their understanding of complicated material.
  • Phi Delta Epsilon (February 2024-)- This is a pre-medical fraternity and I am a member of the Florida Alpha Chapter. This is a professional philanthropic fraternity that has heavy ties to the Children's Miracle Network, all the funds we raise go directly to children in need of health care. In the Fall 2024 semester, we raised a total of $42,000 for the children of Nicklaus Hospital. The sheer amount of effort that I and my fellow members put into things bigger than ourselves is deeply inspiring. Being a member of an organization so dedicated to philanthropy has inspired me to pursue medicine even more.
  • Phi Delta Epsilon DEI chair (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) (January 2025-)- I am currently the DEI chair for this fraternity, it is my first leadership role in the organization. So far, my committee has done presentations of the importance of DEI in medicine (equitable outcomes for all patients). Unfortunately, medicine has not always been a diverse space and in some places, it still is not. This lack of perspective in healthcare providers leads to harm to patients, so my committee is committed to providing information on how to combat the biases that still exist in medicine.
  • Phage Genomic Research at FIU (January 2025-) I am currently apart of a research lab on campus and our objective is to identify the functions of two phages recently discovered in Miami. If successful, this research will be valuable in alternative care for all types of patients with chronic illness and deepening our understanding of molecular biology. Completing this research grants me with another way to particiapte and advance patient care.
