- Worked at Paws2Health Veterinary Clinic LLC as an intern for 2 weeks, helping veterinary technicians while also observing and learning procedures such as consulting, blood work tests, cytology tests, urology tests, ultrasound, x-ray, and different types of surgery
- Using Bacillus licheniformis to reduce populations of pathogenic Naegleria fowleri
- Research project related to mitigating the public health threat in freshwater lakes from Naegleria fowleri by measuring the impact of Bacillus licheniformis, a known chemical inhibitor of N. fowleri buy co-culturing at different B. licheniformis concentrations
- Found significant negative correlation between concentration of B. licheniformis and population of N. fowleri
- Testing inhibition through co-occurring bacteria species on Naegleria fowleri
- Research project related to mitigating the public health threat of Naegleria fowleri amoeba in freshwater lakes through zone of inhibition tests using a variety of co-occurring bacterial species(6) to identify conditions for population decrease.
- Found that 5 of the 6 bacterial species tested had a zoning around the bacterial disk with the greatest inhibition from B. licheniformis and B. subtilis.
