This is where I worked during my first and second summers after completing the city’s lifeguard course. It was a calm and positive experience because the environment was friendly, and I was able to communicate well since many people spoke Spanish. I feel that this helped me a lot in adapting to the lifeguard job without any problems.

Summer 2025 & Summer 2026

This position gave me my first experience working as both a lifeguard and swim instructor. I was responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment, monitoring patrons, enforcing pool rules, and providing swim instruction to participants of different ages and skill levels. Working in a fast paced environment helped me develop my communication, patience, adaptability, and time management skills. I also gained valuable experience managing multiple classes throughout the day while maintaining a high level of attention to safety and instruction.

Worked as a lifeguard at Sport Park on Roosevelt Island, providing a safe and welcoming environment for patrons while monitoring pool activities and enforcing safety rules. This position has allowed me to further develop my lifeguarding skills, strengthen my communication and teamwork abilities, and gain valuable experience in aquatic safety. Working in a positive and supportive environment has motivated me to continue growing professionally and improving my skills as a lifeguard.
