Assist in various classrooms as needed throughout the day.
Infant classroom: Feed infants (bottles or solids, depending on age), diaper changes, and frequent sanitizing. Rock, hold, and comfort infants to sleep. Track feeding, diapering, and sleep logs. Support tummy time and developmental play.
Toddlers (1–2 years): Supervise and engage in interactive play, help with transitions (diapering, meals, naps), assist with beginning language and motor development activities, support beginning potty training if applicable, and maintain patience with tantrums and emotional needs.
Preschoolers (3–5 years): Assist with early learning activities (letters, numbers, crafts), encourage independence (handwashing, cleaning up toys), support group activities like circle time or music, help with meal/snack times, and ensure safety during transitions. Supervise indoor and outdoor play.
Cleaning & Safety: Disinfect toys, surfaces, and shared equipment regularly. Ensure each room is clean, safe, and well-stocked. Assist with laundry or bedding changes (especially in infant/toddler rooms). Follow hygiene procedures, including handwashing and glove use. Watch for signs of illness or injury, and report immediately.
Team Support & Communication: Follow instructions from lead teachers and the director, fill out daily logs when covering for others, communicate child needs or incidents to the appropriate staff, uphold center policies, and classroom expectations, and be ready to step into any room at a moment’s notice.
Follow directions from teachers and center supervisors.
