The program sets new officers up with a veteran officer to work as a positive roll model with in the correctional facility. The mentor maintains additional contact with the assigned mentee focusing on assisting new employees with the pitfalls of the daily correctional facility. I as communicate with all parties involved and assist with issues when the mentor feels like they are not making progress as well as periodically speak with mentors and mentees.
