The Prisoner Review Board is an independent body whose members are appointed by the Governor of Illinois. The Prisoner Review Board imposes release conditions for offenders exiting penal facilities, revokes and restores good conduct credits from inmates, conducts hearings to determine whether parolees have violated conditions of parole, and awards certificates of Relief from Disabilities and Certificates of Good Conduct. The Prisoner Review Board notifies victims and their families when an inmate is about to be released from custody. The Board also makes confidential recommendations to the Governor relative to executive clemency petitions.

Throughout my tenure, I have successfully secured substantial funding through grant writing, significantly enhancing departmental resources and community safety. Notably, I authored a grant that fully funded body-worn cameras and data storage for the entire department, ensuring improved accountability and transparency. Additionally, I wrote multiple grants to fully replace squad cars for the patrol division, modernizing our fleet and enhancing operational efficiency. A highlight of my efforts was securing a $1,200,000 grant from United States Senator Tammy Duckworth for the construction of a new village municipal building, which will serve as a vital hub for community services. I also initiated funding for a less-than-lethal taser program, promoting safer law enforcement practices, and successfully obtained funding for an additional police officer, further strengthening our commitment to public safety.
