Perform abstraction of cancer cases using EMR (Epic) and abstracting software (Metriq). Review medical record to determine reportability of cancer cases and assign appropriate codes. Carry out weekly pathology and monthly radiation treatment casefinding. Monitor patient status through followup. Virtual attendance of tumor board meetings. Other duties as assigned (death clearance, death edits).

Transcribe pathology reports from dictation including gross and microscopic descriptions. Inspect reports for quality and accuracy. Use all available references and resources to verify information. Research unknown or difficult terms to ensure accuracy. Identify and follow up on inconsistencies. Requires knowledge of grammar, medical terminology, disease processes, anatomy and physiology and treatment.

Performed data entry into patient EMR to record wound encounter data to assist physicians in providing excellent wound care for our patients. Utilized Google Suite to efficiently communicate with multiple departments (transcription, coding, billing and administration) regarding the status of patient reporting.

Transcribed pathology and acute care transcription remotely, requiring understanding of multiple platforms and templates. Ability to work independently. Met daily goals for production and accuracy.

Transcribed an average of 80 reports per day while maintaining accuracy standards (>98% accurate).
