Managed all golf course operations and staff. Oversaw turf maintenance

of the greens, roughs, fairways and surrounding landscape. Assisted in the design and modifications of greens, fairways and the tee boxes. Dealt with the weather related problems such as floods, wind storms and heat. Operated and maintained irrigation system. Developed and managed tournaments. Maintained golf carts. Performed regular maintenance  and repairs of golf course equipment.  Assisted in the application of fertilizer, insecticides and fungicides.

                          *  Received a 96.7% good to excellent rating on course  condition from club membership

                          *   Successfully repaired damaged greens with excellent results and no interference of play

                          *   Reduced grounds expenses by working with vendors and reducing labor

                          *   Successful cleanup of over 350 oak trees affected with  Oak Wilt disease  without interruption of play

                          *   Organized and promoted new member tournaments that had great participation

                          *   Developed strong relationships with golfers

                          *   Performed tiling project which dramatically reduced wet areas of the course

                          *   Worked closely with leagues and constructed popular "Tiki Bar"

I filled this position for 2 years. During this period I managed all house functions such as employee hiring, training and scheduling, inventory control, special event planning, member relations, menu planning and pricing, handling of sales receipts, and implementing desires from the clubs board of directors.

This part time position allowed me to enhance my bartender and server skills. Received experience on clubs POS system and food and drink menu.

Opened and grew a small candy shop to a 12,000 sq. ft. retail and dining tourist attraction. Building on a business concept  "Entertain the guest so that the act of buying becomes a consequence of the visit", Maple City Candy grew to a labyrinth of rooms that included not only the largest selection of candies and chocolates in the area but a unique inventory of gift merchandise and home decor. Maple City Candy also housed a coffee shop and a 100+ seat fine dining restaurant. It is in that that I started my my education in the following:
