• Troubleshot and repaired equipment and kept fishing vessels clean to maintain machinery in good working order.
• Displayed strong interpersonal skills by communicating effectively with captains, and deckhands, as the 1st mate to address concerns and coordinate activities on deck.
• Worked long hours, sometimes 36 hours at a time with grueling hands on work in harsh weather conditions.
• Performed routine diesel engine and hydraulics checks to make sure a safe and effective was maintained.

* Please note that this work was done during every summer from 2018 - 2023 and not during the entire 5 years.

• Researched and Developed methods of Measuring Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) during algal blooms in Southeast Alaska; furthermore, looking at how rising ocean temperatures effects these algal blooms.
• Researched and Developed methods of measuring microplastics in different water columns around Petersburg, Alaska.
• Created and presented our research on both topics in front of the community and a board of UAS members and presented research from UAS to use in further experiments.
