John Walko III possesses a diverse and impressive skill set, seamlessly transitioning from his early experiences restoring a '66 Corvette with his father to becoming a formidable force in the racing world. As a Race Team Owner, he founded JWR (John Walko Racing) in 1997, overseeing its growth and success across various championships. His adeptness as a Race Engineer is evident in his achievements, including winning the SCCA Formula Atlantic National Championship with driver Graham Rahal in 2005. Furthermore, his prowess extends to coaching, exemplified by his work with drivers such as Mike Andersen, contributing to multiple championship victories. In November of 2015, John took a hiatus from racing and joined the team at Pittsburgh Power as Technical Director and Product Development and again took on special projects. John was tasked with developing products and services.
Special Projects that John pioneered and developed included:
John and his Dad designed and built their first vacuum truck. The Vacuum truck loosened soil with air for for underground utilities. Part of the design on the Vacuum truck was the design of a vacuum separator that became the basis of Dorothy ERGZ Diesel soot separator which John patented in 2016.
John worked at Diesel Injection of Pittsburgh doing fabrication and eventually all the 'special projects'. He built a twin turbo system.
