Early Experience. After law school, I first practiced with VIncent P. Cozzi, my uncle. Our primary focus was personal injury cases. after 10 years I took over the practice from my uncle and expanded the scope of the work functioning as a sole practitioner.
Criminal Court Experience. I have tried cases in the local municipal courts ranging from traffic offenses, or building code violations, to simple assault cases. Additionally, over the last 16 years I have been regularly handling aggravated assaults, drug offenses, DUIs and credit card fraud cases in both the Superior and Municipal Courts negotiating plea deals, reduced sentences or successfully getting the Defendant into Pretrial Trial Intervention or to drug court.
Public Defender Experience. Township of Rochelle Park, 2021-2022, Township of Washington, 2021-2022, Borough of Old Tappan 2022.
Civil Trial Experience. I have tried several cases in the Law Division of the New Jersey Superior Court to judgment, and taken many others to trial that settled either in the midst of jury selection, after plaintiff testimony or after testimony of either an expert, police officer, or the defendant.
Chancery Court Experience. I have appeared many times in the Chancery Division of the New Jersey Superior Courts(Bergen, Hudson, and Monmouth), assisting clients in appointment as an Administrator, removal of an Executor, and appointment as Guardians.
Family Division Experience. Over last 11 years I have expanded my practice handling a number of divorces, child support and visitation matters (Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic). I also represent Defendants or victims in domestic violence actions.
Appellate Experience. Although I am not frequently involved in appellate court matters, I have filed three appeals in my career on behalf of Plaintiffs in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court .
Additional Experience. Lastly, as a general practitioner I also have comprehensive experience in landlord/tenant actions,residential and commercial closings.
