Clean/maintain kennels and provide proper husbandry for animals housed at the shelter. Monitor the health and behavior of the animals. Process animals through the chameleon database by vaccinating, weighing, microchipping, and picturing for identification. Transferring animals out of temporary holding areas into general kennel areas. Perform and assist in humane euthanasia procedures. Assist the public in finding lost animals. Provide counseling services to customers pertaining to animal adoptions. Assist the public by providing information concerning county ordinances and regulations. Assist CSR's by impounding animals into the facility, researching microchips to reunite lost pets with their owners, outcoming animals, and communicating with adopters and rescue partners pertaining to animals leaving the facility. Monitor and manage the inventory of animals housed at Bernalillo County Animal Care. Participate in Animal Management Committee meetings to research the best possible outlet and resources for animals housed at the facility. Train and supervise new and existing Animal Care Technicians to ensure humane animal care is being achieved. Daily walkthrough to ensure proper animal husbandry and animal care is being achieved by staff. Assist and perform behavioral evaluations on animals housed at the county shelter. Administer medications to animal patients at facility.
