When i was very young probably 7 years old, i had just come in to the game of soccer. My beautiful AMAZING DAD, signed me up and jumped into it with both feet and assisted the team as assistant coach. what i was to learn through this was life changing at such a young age and came to play a very important role in my expertise now. i was prone to ankle and knee injuries being so small and skinny as a rail yet tough as nails on the playing field, each time i was injured, (which was more often than id like to admit) my grandma, my dads mom, was a healer of sorts and i was brought to her for treatments of her homeland mexico and portuguese background. her remedies were quite brutal and extreemely painful to say the least, often brought to tears and a little of vocal yelling frol m it. but what i learned was that ofter the treatmaent manual massges shed give me in a matter of days i was back on my feet doing it all over again. you see back then, if you sprained an ankle and it bruised up really severe, medical doctors were against amy kind of manipulation and insisted on complete abstinence of use with ice and elevation. what grandma taught me was that while the sprain and bruising was severe, what was even more severe was the success of treatment done as it was. bruised and swollen. I saw that it promoted healing lowering the swelling and the bruising quite rapidly. during the course of the next couple of years i observed yet another form of therapy. My father was severely injured at work and was suffering from his back. i remember going to some german guy named "fritz" in san diego to receive massage therapies from. I remember hearing my dad screaming in the background for a while off and on during the session . but what was more amazing was what it did for him. i remember like it was yesterday him being virtually pain free for a couple weeks at a time. i believe this was what launched me into becoming a massage therapist (a healer) ..
i was injured in a construction accident and on workers compensation for a while . long enough to know i did not want to keep on doing construction. i flipped throughj a vocational school subject booklet and as soon as i saw the massage one, i called made an appointment and the rest is history. I enrolled and quickly was identified by my teachers as a natural in this amazing vocation and told me i had a gift. Yes, i certainly did. while only in class for four months, a colleague informed me that she was quitting a job at a chiropractors office in Encinitas and offered me the gig. I told her i had only 4 months of school and wasn't ready. she responded with this: JOhnny, you are just amazing and do not yet realize this. you are better than most of the HHP's that are about ot graduate johnny and i think that you are ready for this. she said " in fact i already took the liberty of telling Dr wofford about you and has already agreed to meet with you as soon as possible to work for him under the protection of his authority in chiropractic. and that was when i first stated working. and while i was still in school to boot. that's when i started to discover the magic that i possessed in becoming an expert in this field of the healing arts. And so began my journey to become the best sports, orthopedic, neuromuscular, rehabilitative Massage Therapist i could possibly evolve into. I am pleased to say that I am a Devout Christian and therefore absolutely believe the energy that flows through me I believe is the power that flows from the Lord of heaven because of JESUS CHRIST! I am not a fanatic, just born again and servint The Lord any way i can and bringing health and healing to others as my gift to them from above by the gift i was given and therefore to be further given in honor to God and Humanity in this life I have been given time and time again.
