Sir Galahad of the Round Table is possibly the most notable character in all Arthurian legend, renowned as the most noble of any knight. He is the brightest, kindest, and most excellent of the knights, surpassing many others in his wisdom. Born out of wedlock, by a seductress, he overcomes his past by proving himself worthy of righteousness and achieves what no other could have. Galahad, born of evil, devoted his life to good. Born to Sir Lancelot and the Lady Elaine, his life started in a noble setting. Growing up in courts and among kings, Galahad was soon sent away to study more spiritual aspects of life. He was taken in by the Nuns of Abbey Camelot, who trained him in all things spiritual and developed his purity. Years later, he arrived in red armor and took his seat in Siege Perilous at the Round Table. Proving his purity and worthiness to become the Grail Knight. Sir Arthur then sent him out on the quest for the Holy Grail along with Sir Bors and Sir Percivale. Along his way, he collected the Sword of Solomon and the Shield of Joseph. He healed the sick and lame, while also rescuing an entire castle of fair maidens from seven evil brothers. He fought with evil knights and proved his strength. While in the City of Sarras, he meets with he blind King Evelake. He tried to attain the grail long ago but was not worthy; however, he was promised he would see the grail knight before he died. Galahad restores his sight and thus fulfills the promise. He arrives at the hidden location of the grail after receiving a vision. When he attains it, he receives a vision of God. Wanting to be with him so badly, Galahad is taken into heaven. Galahad serves as an example of the perfect Christian. One who was resistant to temptation and was pure of heart. He overcomes his father's faults and sins while becoming the greatest and most noble of any knight.
