Performed grain size distribution analysis on 86 glacial sediment core samples via sieving and weighing
Recorded descriptions of core samples at 5 ft intervals of 100 ft drill cores with sediment size, color, and sorting as parameters
Precisely measured and mixed decoagulant solution as part of the fine-grained sieve procedure for samples containing clay- and silt-sized particles.

Project 1: Compared geochemical results of two samples of an unnamed tuff unit to EarthChem online geochemical database of volcanic rocks from East-Central Idaho
Used petrographic analysis to characterize mineralogy, textures, and inclusions of a thin section from the studied unnamed tuff
The project culminated in a written report on results of preliminary characterizations of the tuff unit as well as an oral presentation for a student research event
Project 2: Recorded gamma-ray log readings, took magnetic susceptibility measurements and described sediment types of six glacial sediment cores.
Identified that there was no correlation between sediment types and magnetic susceptibility readings from any of the cores.
Geology Interpreter
United States Forestry Service (GeoCorps)
Cameron, MT
05.2022 - 08.2022
Served as a GeoCorps America intern, supporting interpretative material while also performing daily recalibration of an augmented reality sand box and maintaining seismograph paper.
Developed three oral programs by researching earthquake processes, local geology, landslide mechanics, and interpretation techniques.
Presented these programs several times daily to crowds of 2-30 visitor center guests and assisting visitors with questions pertaining to geology and local recreation amenities.
