Work History
Police Corporal
Grand Junction Police Department
Grand Junction, CO
01.2022 - Current
I am currently assigned to patrol. Working for a smaller agency has allowed me to see a case from beginning to finish. I learned to write search warrants, arrest warrants, case reports and conduct in depth interviews with victim’s/witnesses for major crimes. Although new at the department, I have mentored newer officers on proactive work and critical thinking decisions. My work effort has earned me a promotion to Corporal. As a Corporal I supervise eight officers and oversee their daily work. I handle citizen complaints against officers and provide a trustworthy relationship between the community and the police department. I have received training on identifying street drugs and their packaging. I have also received training on the safety precautions of handling street drugs and chain of custody for evidentiary purposes. I attended a 72 hour drug interdiction class hosted by Desert Snow. I have received training and real work experience on responding to emergency response calls for service as a patrol officer and a patrol supervisor. I received the “ADAM MOFFITT AWARD” from a 72 hour crisis intervention training by J.C. Santelli Training and Consulting. I continue to maintain a high personal standard of de-escalation through verbal communication skills. I currently hold a Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training certificate through the state of Colorado where I had to prove I was competent in basic arrest skills, patrol tactics and overall public safety. I have experience on making probable cause arrest, search and seizure, evidence handling and prisoner transportation. I have experience in laws and criminal procedure in both California and Colorado. Throughout my law enforcement career I have been proficient with all required duty weapons to include rifle, handgun and taser. I receive quarterly qualifications and training for all duty weapons to include weapons handling and maintenance. I have been in law enforcement for 15 years and have successfully learned how to lead people and manage operations for day to day patrol.

Police Officer II
San Diego Police Department
San Diego, CA
02.2012 - 06.2022
In my time with the San Diego Police Department I worked 4 divisions out of the 9 divisions available. I have provided law enforcement service from low income citizens to the upper class. I pride myself on treating every person, despite their way of living with respect. In my time with San Diego Police Department, I have worked special teams such as two crime suppression teams and the Special Operations Unit. The special operation unit was a job only offered to 16 out of the 1800 sworn personnel. While with the Special Operations Unit, I was assigned a uniform position working saturated patrol in high gang activity areas. I also assisted major crime units in suspect apprehensions, warrant service and confidential informant security protection. I have received training on drug interdiction through the San Diego Sheriff’s Office hosted by Desert Snow. I have worked alongside government agencies such as FBI, DTF, DEA and Southern California’s Human Trafficking Task Force. I have experience in working on a mobile field force team for protests and the 2020 riots. I was assigned to a mobile strike team as a quick reaction force for the 2020 riots. There were many times where I had to assume the responsibility of acting sergeant. I was in charge of making critical decisions in high stress situations through a coordinated effort. I chose to leave this job in the hopes of moving my family to a more family friendly environment.
