- I have worked 3 sessions as a counselor and helped out backstage for 3 other sessions. For the sessions during the summer, the camp runs from 9-3 and during the school year, we have rehearsal once a week. As a counselor, I am responsible for checking in the campers in the morning and checking them out at the end of the day. I am also responsible for looking after the kids and answering any questions they may have. In the beginning of the camp I am required to evaluate each camper’s audition and score them based on their abilities. After the cast list comes out the counselors are responsible for giving blocking, teaching dances, acting coaching, and running scenes. In the past, I have also been in charge of costuming the show. This was a large responsibility as I had to document where each piece was from because they had to be returned. Overall I love working with kids and teaching them about theater.

- During Into the Woods over the summer I was selected to be assistant director. The director and I were responsible for making final decisions on casting, creating the schedule for the day, designing the set, and teaching dances or blocking. I gave notes and suggestions to the campers on how to improve as well as positive feedback for a job well done. During the show I worked backstage as a running crew moving set pieces during scene changes, organizing props, helping in the dressing rooms, and putting mics on the campers. This upcoming summer I am going to be assistant directing Mean Girls, which we have already begun preparations for.
