For a National History Day Contest, my partner and I created a website on WWII refugees and their role in breaking immigration barriers. I took the lead in researching refugee groups, their migration patterns, and the impact on both the refugees and their host countries. After completing the project, we presented our findings to judges and were selected as one of the top projects in Humboldt County, advancing to the state finals. However, the competition was canceled due to COVID-19. This project taught me the value of perseverance, leadership, and the global significance of diversity.
