Trumansburg, NY
05.2012 - Current
  • While my parents are working, I help watch my siblings throughout the day Monday-Friday in the summer. The hours usually range from 6:30AM to 3:30 PM. Over the course of the nine hours, I cooked breakfast and lunch for my siblings. I cleaned the house which consists of, cleaning the windows, living room, starting laundry, doing dishes, and vacuuming our bedrooms. I helped my siblings get their showers/baths done, brushing their hair and teeth, and taking care of their clothes. Throughout the day we would do indoor activities such as playing with toys, and building forts. If it was nice outside we would go outside and play in the back yard, as well as in the woods. Once I got my license and got a car in 2019, I would take my siblings to our grandparents house so we could all go swimming in their swimming pool.
  • When I first started babysitting for my parents I had three siblings, ages ranged from 7-2. After a few years I had another sibling added in and watch him since he was a baby.

Lead Toddler Room Teacher

  • I was first hiring at Smart Start in March of 2022 as a Toddler teaching assistant, during that time I helped throughout the classroom with the children. This included diaper changing/potties, providing snack/lunch to the children, getting them dressed and cleaned up, applying sunscreen if needed while going outside, helping with activities and crafts, as well as playing and keeping the children entertained through music and play. During this time I also helped with classroom management, that includes cleaning the toys in classroom, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning the bathroom, wiping down toilets, door handles, light switches and counter tops, spraying and wiping down windows and mirrors, doing classroom laundry, spraying and wiping down all tables and chairs. At the end of the day all toys would be sprayed down and cleaned for the next day.
  • As of June, 2023 I started to transition into a co-lead toddler room teacher as our lead teacher was leaving to go back to school. During the months of June, 2023 to July 7, 2023 I was presumed as transitioning from TA to Lead. During that time in the classroom I made lesson plans for the week, what would be taught/learned, the activities being done, as well as crafts being done. In July of 2023 my co-lead officially came into the classroom while our lead was transitioning out. During this time we shared the responsibilities of running the classroom, this means with lesson planning we shared days and communicated with what themes we should do for each week to come up with activities, and crafts to do with children. We collaborated on ideas on how to improve the classroom, ideas on how to go about different behaviors being seen within the classroom, splitting responsibilities with cleaning and classroom management, as well as brainstorming ideas that would help improve the development of the children within the toddler classroom.
