Since May 2025, I have worked as a Probation and Parole Agent with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, where I supervise individuals on community supervision while ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions and DOC policies.
In this role, I manage a diverse caseload, balancing accountability with rehabilitation by enforcing rules of supervision while also connecting clients to community resources.
My duties include completing detailed documentation such as case notes, violation reports, and revocation recommendations; assisting in custodies to ensure offenders are safely transferred to jail or prison with proper legal documentation; conducting investigations supported by assessments and offender interviews; and collaborating with courts, law enforcement, treatment providers, and correctional institutions.
I regularly apply risk/needs assessments (IDA, COMPAS, ODARA) to guide case planning, while maintaining accuracy in offender records used by courts and DOC leadership.
Beyond the technical aspects, I take pride in helping people successfully re-enter society, viewing supervision as an opportunity to encourage positive change, teach accountability, and connect clients to education, treatment, and employment.
I also enjoy learning new skills and adapting to updated policies, procedures, and systems, which has strengthened my effectiveness in both compliance and rehabilitation efforts and prepared me to take on greater responsibility.
