  • My primary duty is as the minerals program manager for the Bureau of Land Management - Mother Lode Field Office. As the minerals program manager I review all proposed mining notice and plan level operations for compliance with the regulations that govern mining operations. I also approve of financial guarantee amounts for proposed mining operations within the Mother Lode Field Office jurisdiction. I conduct periodic reviews of existing financial guarantees to ensure that the amount is still sufficient to reclaim any surface disturbance created by authorized/approved mining operations. I write all National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents required for the approval of proposed mining operations and abandoned mine closures.
  • I perform a minimum of 52 compliance inspections annually and generate written reports detailing the results of each inspection.
  • I am also the Hazmat representative for the Mother Lode Field Office. I monitor and also respond to public complaints for solid waste dump sites and evaluate for any potential hazardous materials on public lands. As part of my role as the Hazmat representative I have created a vehicle abatement program for the Mother Lode Field Office. The vehicle abatement program help speed up the process to remove abandoned vehicles from public lands managed by the Mother Lode Field Office.
