Dedicated to pursuing a career in Psychology, specifically in the developmental area. I am motivated to further my understanding and comprehension of a vast disorder as is Autism. My career goal is to expertise in diagnosing and treating autism in children. I am eager to help children to minimize this disorder in order to allow them to peacefully engage in normal day-to-day activities, as how I've done with my autism-diagnosed little brother so far.

• CPR/ First Aid

I have been very close to my little brother since his birth. He often had certain behaviors that at the time did not seem alarming, but later on found out that they were autism symptoms. 

Symptoms included...

• Consistently bangin head on surface (4mo-1 yr)
• Excessive fidgeting(1yr-current)
• Restriction overstimulation such as clothing(1 yr-4yrs)
• Severe Anxiety with routine changes(2yrs-current)
• Selective appetite(2yrs-current)
• Limited motor skills(3yrs-current)
• Delayed and limited speech(3yrs-current)

Since then I worked on improving...

• Minimized fears of routine changes
• Has become more social
• Improving fluency
• Athleticism

I have learned a lot about autism with my little brother, and continue to learn a lot more with my clients. If I could highlight a personal accomplishment, I would highlight how far I have come with my brother into minimizing autism and helping him live a more normal life. As of right now we found a talent and hobby he enjoys which is soccer, and I plan to have go up and beyond to exceed in this sport. I have the progress blogged on instagram: @henryp._.14
