Racetrack veterinarian at Gulfstream Park.

Responsibilities include:

-Lameness diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment.

-General equine medicine procedures (castrations, endoscopic exams, fluid therapies, diagnostic blood work, immunizations, etc.)

-Practice management more or less unique to Sport Medicine/ Racetrack practice (regulatory compliance with respect to theraputics usage and their withdrawal times, HISA reporting, developing targeted treatment protocols to maximize performance, etc.)

Private practice at Illinois and Indiana Standardbred racetracks (Sportsman's Park, Maywood Park, Hawthorne Racecourse, Balmoral Park, Indiana Grand, and Hoosier Park) as well as local training centers in those areas.

My responsibilities were the same as those listed for my current position listed above w/o the HISA involvement.

Private practice responsibilities beyond those of an associate veterinarian including employee recruitment and training, billing and bookkeeping, and collections.
