The pursuit of an MSN degree with a focus in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) is the natural culmination of my extensive and diverse nursing career, which has spanned over a decade in critical care, dialysis, and rehabilitation. My experience has fundamentally shaped my understanding of the complex, acute, and chronic needs of the adult and geriatric populations, particularly those afflicted by multiple comorbidities.
My professional journey began in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Francis Medical Center and St. Mary-Corwin, where I honed my ability to stabilize and manage critically ill trauma, medical, and cardiac patients. This period saw my promotion to ICU Charge Nurse and the implementation of enhanced patient safety protocols, such as relocating telemetry monitoring to more accessible areas. My clinical acumen and knowledge were often acknowledged by peers and surgeons alike. As a Travel ICU Registered Nurse with Fastaff, I served as a clinical resource, being invited to apply for full-time employment at all my travel assignments, and was even encouraged to apply for a House Supervisor position.
