Although I have never been employed by a construction company, I do have some experience with the home building process. In 2014 I took an active role in the build process of our home. I was fascinated by the ins and outs of the build, from the timeline to the order of operations that made the build streamlined. The general contractor in charge of my build was great at explaining the process and answering questions. Aside from the build I do handle the majority of my own home repairs, as well as small remodel projects. For example I have installed carpet, wood floors, ceiling fans, changed outlets and switches and have done minor AC repairs.
I also built my own fence upon moving in to the home mentioned above. While working on my fence I was approached by neighbors to build their fences. What started as my fence led to five residential fence jobs, each lot was an acre in size.
My past work experience shows the ability to communicate under pressure. I believe this will benefit me in a position with your company when dealing with anyone that I encounter on day to day operations. What I lack in previous construction experience I believe that I make up for with the ability to learn quickly and think on my feet to produce a quality product.
