For a total of 10 months, I went to two challenge programs in Los Alamitos sunburst youth challenge Academy and California job challenge at Los Alamitos joint forces training base. I spent 5 1/2 months at sunburst youth academy away from my family from July 10 to December 16 during this time I went to school, but also learned discipline, integrity, honor and courage from cadre US national guard soldiers upon graduating the program. I became a new person with different morals and capabilities.

A year later, I went to California job challenge for 4 1/2 months where I went to college to get a certificate of achievement in welding and complete my high school diploma. just like sunburst I stayed away from my family to discipline myself and become a better person.
