QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 25+ years experience as a telecommunications/datacenter technician/cable installer/network technician
  • Strong cable management skills and experience running copper and fiber in a data center
  • Extensive experience in the overall rack, stack, power, and cabling of equipment within the Data Center
  • Installation, termination, testing and labeling of cat5, cat5e, cat6e, RJ45 heads, coax, patch panels, jacks etc
  • Linux Operating System experience
  • Provide quality break/fix support
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used single and multimode optics
  • Experience with fault isolating and troubleshooting networks including LAN and WAN
  • Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP
  • Hands on experience working with network hardware such as multiplexers, routers, switches, patch panels and media converters
  • Ability to handle expedient resolutions of all emergency escalations and urgent customer service requests
  • Extensive fiber experience
  • Proficient with network test equipment
