As a job foreman i take delivery of material,inventory, and store material until needed. Read blueprints to determine the best cable path. Install a support system for cabling per industry standard. Install cabling whether it be voice,data,fiber optic,or coax. Talk with engineers,general contractors,and customers on changes to original blueprints. Build IDF closets install cable tray and communication racks,floor mounted and wall mounted. Fish cabling down walls,through modular furniture to its final termination point. Dress cabling in IDF's to patch panel and terminate per industry standard. Install jacks on user end, test all cabling with fluke testers,save results for warranty and printouts for the customer. Install data switches in IDF, install patch cords from patch panel to data switches. Install wireless access points where designated on blueprints. Make As-Built drawings for customers.
