My role at National Rarities requires me to inspect and authenticate a wide range of antiques, old coins, different types of jewelry, and other valuable items from customers. I am then tasked with giving a reasonable offer based on the current market price for that piece. I travel each week to a new area anywhere in the country during set times we have events scheduled.
During my time at copart it is hard to put in words the responsibilities and task I was required to complete. This was a corporate team that would deploy after or during natural disasters such as hurricanes, flooding, snow, hail, and others. I started as an inventory specialist where I would clean and detail vehicles then take photos/videos of the vehicle; it would then be auctioned off online. Then quickly made the transition to loader operator where I was tasked with the organization of vehicles in the facilities to allow for maximum storage without damaging the car. I would also load different sorts of car haulers, anything from single trailers to 10 car semis also while not damaging the vehicle or truck during loading. A big part of the job was the 90 degree project we would complete throughout different parts of the country. During this we would send out a team to grid out facilities to allow for max capacity then hit 6 inch nails into the ground to form the spots for different vehicles.
While being a package handler for a short time I was in charge of loading multiple trucks during the night shift. While loading the trucks I had to ensure they were organized by route, weight, and size to follow safety protocols and allow for a smooth delivery. I also oversaw employee safety compliance around the facility as a member of the safety committee.
Was a line cook for about 3 and a half years, where I dealt with the preparation of many different options of food during very hectic days. I was able to work efficiently with a team to ensure everything got done properly and up to the standard. Had a great time working there especially because of the good food.
A big part of my upbringing was working on my grandpas farm. As a kid up to age of about 15 I would help out with anything that was needed, no questions asked. Wether that would be detailing the tractors, helping with up keep on the barns and sheds, or just any little odd jobs. This instilled the hardworking can do attitude I have today that has got me where I am. I learned the values of hard work and giving it your all no matter how small or big a job can be.
