The After School Program places workers at schools and offers parents a childcare program that allows the parents to not have to take their kids anywhere until pick up. We start at 2:30 and watch the kids until 6:00 if they are not picked up by the parents sooner.
Starting from the ripe age of twelve I started doing Audio and Visuals, along with lighting for my church's children's ministry. I would have to manage the slides and sound associated with it. I would also adjust and edit the lighting.
As a camp counselor I cared for 10-12 children alongside two other counselors. We stayed amongst the children and had to guide them through the scheduled day of activities, meals, and eventually an educational but fun service about the teachings of Christ. In terms of what we did when the kids were doing their activities and having fun, we taught the activities. I was involved in overseeing parts of our Ropes course. This being my second year over Ropes at camp. I was also tasked with overseeing and teaching Archery, Riflery, and Animal Tracking and Hunting.
I would serve food made by the cook to students at John Brown University. I would also work shifts in which I cleaned the kitchen floors, cleaned tables, vacuumed the front of house floors. I would also clean dishes in the back some days.
I was tasked with preparing the dough we used to make the food. Eventually using the dough to make our famous pretzels and pretzels related products. Eventually selling the food to the customers. By the time I had concluded my employment there I was opening and closing the store often and was tasked with locking up anything that needed to be locked up with the key I had been tasked with taking care of. I would train other employee's to do the same. Was dishes, clean floors, clean the materials and tools used to make our product possible. Restock anything we might be out of and take orders from customers as well.
I worked alongside camp counselors while they cared for the children and went about their time at camp. I was to learn from them in hopes of being a good counselor myself the coming years. I was also tasked with setting up and tearing down some of the events the children got to enjoy at night.
I was in band for six years, three of those years being marching band. I was the photography editor of my high school's yearbook for two years. I did the TSA program that my school had to offer as well. Outside of this I was serving on sundays for my church and leading Bible studies on saturdays. I graduated part of the National Honors Society with a 3.5 gpa.
