Joshua Day

Current student at Northern Kentucky University finishing my B.S. in Applied Software Engineering this December, actively seeking full-time software engineering roles or internships.

I work across the stack with Python and JavaScript, with experience building web applications, designing RESTful APIs, working with PostgreSQL, and containerizing applications with Docker.

Most recently I built SmartSpend, an AI-powered personal finance app that automatically categorizes transactions using machine learning and helps users track and manage their spending. Built with Flutter, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL, with a scikit-learn model handling transaction categorization under the hood.

Outside of coursework I built ChatConnect, a cross-platform AI chat application, further sharpening my skills in full-stack development and API integration. My background as a pharmacy technician at Kroger gave me firsthand experience working within complex, high-stakes operational systems a perspective I carry into every application I build.

I am actively pursuing opportunities where I can apply my skills and grow as an engineer.
