• Cayuse Livestock is my family's 5th generation ranch. We are a cow calf yearling located in Melville MT where we maintain a herd of 1200 mother cows and 500-1000 yearlings. Additionally we lease severely ranches around the state adding another 500 cows to our operation and 5000 yearlings. I worked on the ranch while growing up the then came back full time in 1998. I was gradually given more responsibility and became the General Manager of our home ranch in 2007 and President of the entire operation in 2014. During my tenure I have manged the daily workflow, developed a cattle production plan, developed an extensive AI breeding program for our cows and heifers, implemented a weed management program through our local weed conservation district, developed extensive water pipelines to enhance our intensively manged grazing systems, implemented yearly grazing plans, reduced our winter feed costs by 75%, managed employees to maximize productivity, implemented an organizational chart and job responsibilities and organized a board of directors.
