Navesink Country Club is a private facility in Monmouth County, New Jersey. My job as the First Assistant Golf Professional is to assist the Head Golf Professional in the day-to-day operations of the club. I am part of a 9-person inside operations staff that runs the golf operation from start to finish and caters to our 380+ regular members and their families. We run an average of 180 golf events a year plus outside functions. We have an 18 hole ladies golf association, a 9 hole ladies golf association, a 4 hole ladies league, a men’s golf association, a junior program, and an Operation 36 program. In addition, we run multiple camps, clinics, and seminars throughout the golf season.

While here at Navesink, I ran and was directly in charge of our 18-hole ladies' league, our 9-hole ladies' league, and our 4-hole ladies' league as Director of Women’s Golf. Over the course of the year, I run 80+ different tournaments and events for a roster of 100+ ladies. My duties include:

  • Assisting the golf shop manager in setting up the golf shop and promoting the merchandise within, with an emphasis on hard goods.
  • Giving private lessons.
  • Assisting members with any and all needs.
  • Ordering merchandise, with an emphasis on hard goods.
  • Attending committee meetings on behalf of the golf staff.
  • Performing club fitting up to standards set forth by the PGA, Titleist, TaylorMade, Ping, and True Temper.
  • Performing all club repairs for the country club.
  • Operating the Golf Genius tournament software.
  • Operating the ForeTees golf software.
  • Acting as a rules official. I am fully proficient in the USGA rules of golf and put on two different rules seminars for the membership this season, where I was the sole lecturer.
