While I've been with Michelin US1, I've become proficient in multiple jobs within my area, not just my current position. I've extended my knowledge of after cure tires to better understand any issues and how to address them.
I'm also our shifts Quality Spoke. I'm responsible for communicating with our shift along with others any issues that may appear on the tires once cured. My knowledge of our quality codes for each flaw, both cosmetic or detrimental. I guide my shift in knowledge of the severity of each quality code, how to utilize our resources to locate and address without over or underclassing a tire. When a particular dimension of tire should be placed on hold for further safety/quality inspection.
We are the last set of controlled hands to inspect tires prior to them leaving our plant. I take my position very seriously along with passing my knowledge onto others. I communicate any issues with quality techs to try to get ahead of any further quality issues before a tire is cured in a press.
I am also part of our plants Safety Coalition. It is part of my responsibility to address any safety issues or concerns. Our team meets every month to discuss any rising concerns or negative trends in safety plant wide. We step onto the floor to network with everyone, bringing attention to these concerns along with getting feedback on any possible improvements.
I also have nearly 12 years of law enforcement experience. My time in this field taught me patience, interpersonal communication skills, team work, calm under extreme pressure and a very self aware mindset. I've dealt with a multitude of personalities and have come to understand people on a far deeper level. Reading the room and understanding our vulnerabilities has helped me see past the black and white thinking. Acknowledging the amount of gray area and having more grace for others both in personal and professional life. I enjoy working with others willing to meet on deeper levels. I enjoy helping and leaving people better than before we met.
