  • I coordinated risk acceptance with Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity, Indian Head, MD (NOSSA) implementing mitigation measures to ensure the absolute minimum amount of PNS equipment was at risk during ordinance handling evolutions.

  • Served as Lead Ship Superintendent for the Navy’s only two Submarine Tender responsible for accomplishing the full range of technical activity for nuclear and non-nuclear work for submarines and surface ships resulting in the on time completion of 14 SSN/SSGN maintenance availabilities , 100 voyage repair periods completing, 4,000 complex maintenance actions as well as led availabilities for four minesweepers, two LHA’S, AND three LSD’S in my 6-year period as Lead Ship Superintendent for USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40) and USS EMORY S. LAND (AS 39).
  • Responsible for technical design and layout of submarine/ship systems as well as the repair, overhaul, and modification of existing submarines/ships.
  • Developed scope of work for assigned projects in coordination with military and government contractor architects/engineers.
  • Provided mentorship and coaching to less experienced civilians and directly led and mentored 6 Chief Petty Officers, as well as 8 Production Officers (O1-E-O3-E) while managing efficient teams of up to 80 sailors.

  • Established improvements for all non-nuclear shop processes by studying current methods and making recommendations.
  • Assistant Ship's Maintenance Management Officer, determined the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects; determine how many projects can be accomplished concurrently, which may be delayed while considering the skills, personnel, materials, and equipment needed compared to what was available. Ensured all work was properly documented utilizing OMMS-NG software during all ship availabilities.
  • Assistant Maintenance and Material Manager (3MA) assisted the 3MC with leading the ships maintenance program to include force revisions, quarterly maintenance schedules, feedback reports, and qualifications.
  • Ship’s Quality Assurance Inspector, inspected ship work to ensure that it was planned and performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Assisted the Quality Assurance Officer with reviewing all I Level Maintenance was in accordance with 4790.3 Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
  • Departure From Specifications (DFS) Program Manager wrote, submitted, tracked, updated, and cleared all Ship’s minor and major DFS submissions uploaded to eDFS as well as all Liaison Action Requests (LARs).
