Joshua Stephens

Work-oriented Navigator with three years of experience working on boats of varying size and function. Diagnoses malfunctions and using mechanical skills to bring systems back online. As a Quartermaster In the Navy, I have been on two deployments. During these deployments I have received the Expeditionary Warfare Pin, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Service Medal. Other Qualifications I have achieved while being in the Navy, are Crew Member, Radio Communicator/ Operator, Navigator, and Coxswain. Being a Crew Member I would operate and maintain crewserve weapons, inventory and perform maintenance on miscellaneous items on the boats ie; lights, fire extinguishers, windows, chairs, weapon mounts, and HVAC systems. As Radio Communicator/ Operator, I would maintain and operate encrypted radios, talking on the radios, and troubleshooting when they would fault. As a Navigator, I would update charts by accurately plotting, adding new courses to charts and cogents. Also as Navigator, I would operate radios and headsets. One of my main responsibilities as navigator would be to navigate the coxswain by telling them bearings, and speeds needed to stay on course and get to the destinations on time. As Coxswain, I drove the boats while being in charge of the crew and making sure that everyone was doing their jobs in a timely manner and answering any questions they may have, while also training them.

A hobby that I absolutely love that I do is photography. I began photography my sophomore year in highschool, where I started my own business taking senior portraits, product photos, engagement photos, and organized photoshoots for multiple new brands. Although i am not currently running this business at the moment, I still enjoy doing shoots on my free time for family and friends!

Another Hobby I enjoy is hiking and enjoying nature with my Boyfreind and friends. I also enjoy rollerblading down the beach in my free time!
