My goal in wanting to be a teacher, is to provide children with learning opportunities that make them feel safe and also encourage them to find enjoyment in school. Children's opinions on education have been very diverse throughout the years. We see more and more children losing interest in continuing their education as well as maintaining their education. I want to encourage my future students to find enjoyment in learning. I believe getting children excited about learning is important and highly effective in learning outcomes and academic success. This time that children are in school is a large cognitive stepping stone for students and it determines their lifelong success later on in life. By encouraging students, I feel that I can excite children about learning and that I can get through to children who are having a hard time enjoying their time at school due to outside responsibilities and/or distractions. Finally, I value fostering an environment where children can feel safe, cared for, and passionate about learning.
