Hospice Career began in 1991 as a Home Care Registered Nurse with Hospice of the Upstate. I

In 1994 became the Patient Care Coordinator.

In 1995 became the Director of Patient Services.

In 1998 became the The Vice President of Clinical Services.

In 2003 became Interim CEO.

In January of 2004 served as COO.

Joined Hospice Care of the Piedmont in 2004.

Was part of the planning, developing and opening of the first two Hospice Inpatient facilities in South Carolina. Hospice of the Upstate in 1998 and the Hospice Care of the Piedmont Hospice House in 2005.

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and oversight of the organization's quality improvement, staff education, Emergency preparedness plan, and infection control programs, inclusive of all staff.
  • Annually evaluates the plan's effectiveness and ensures all required elements of the respective programs are addressed.
  • Develops and maintains a Quality Improvement Plan (QAPI) that is developed annually and updated, as needed.
  • Compiles data through clinical chart review to assure improvement and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and provides education and training o staff on he performance improvement plan, infection control plan, regulatory compliance and audit results.
  • Coordinates committee meetings. Records and distributes meeting minutes.
  • Participates in all external and internal compliance and regulatory audits/inspections. Ensures corrective action plans are documented timely and effectively implemented.
  • Develops and maintains up to date knowledge of regulatory requirements and related laws and regulations as mandated or recommended by OIG, CMS, DHEC and other agencies.
