Joy Smelewski

This is my "current" job that I will be losing because of the company shutting down. I have been a team lead since January 2025. I enjoy this job because it shows my high level of patience. I am always willing to help others. I am able to work in a fast moving environment and follow the tasks given to me.

I worked two summers at this summer camp. This job is full of fun activities and field trips. Their was always a busy day planned for the children. I created so many bonds with the children and showed them great leadership. I loved to play all the games with the children and make sure I was participating in all the activities with them. My second year we had a ton of children and my leader and I did a lot of problem solving to make sure all of our children's needs were fulfilled. I love watching the children grow.

This job is an after school program at one of the South Lyon public schools. This was with some of the same kids that go to the summer camp I worked at. I enjoyed playing outside or in the gym with the children along with coloring. We plan different activities to keep the children busy well they're waiting. I am able to be a helpful leader by teaching the kids different skills. I am always open to new ideas from my coworkers and listening.

I worked this job on and off during this time and was a team lead for most of my time here. I enjoyed learning how to work in the food and learning good customer service.
