- My priorities at this job was to put Autonation customers into rental vehicles when they left their personal vehicles for service. I worked in a platform called Dealerware. On this platform I uploaded a customer's information and created a profile. I added their driver's license, insurance, and a form of payment. We only used credit or debit cards as a liability issue in case they were to be involved in an accident. Also we will charge them if they chose to go through a tollway. We have different program that need to be selected when they choose to rent a vehicle. These are the following programs:
- Retail: Out of pocket payment.
- Service Warranty: Extended warranty will pay for the rental.
- Tundra Warranty: Manufacturer warranty. This applies to brand new vehicles or vehicles under 60k miles. Also valid for Recalls.
- Internal: This is when a service advisor or Autonation will pay for the costs of the rental. A manager signature needs to be included in the contract.
A driver's license and full coverage insurance need to be valid and up to date. In order for us to rent a vehicle to the customer.
I washed and vacuumed all rental fleet vehicles. Prep them ready to be rented.
I plated new fleet vehicles every other week. Added their plates, and their vehicles registration stickers.
I inspected returning rental vehicles, made sure they are still running smoothly and no damages are in or on the vehicle.
I worked as a team player with other employees from other departments. From sales, to technicians, to service advisors.
Every now and then, I would be sent to deliver a rental to a customer's location. Either local or to a different city.
I built a clientele with returning customers, and refer them to my colleagues in sales if they are interested in purchasing a vehicle.
